Frequently Asked Questions (Please read before inquiring!)
-
Importing live bamboo plants depends on your country’s specific plant import regulations, which can range from highly restrictive (e.g., the USA) to more reasonable. The required documents for importing bamboo plants vary but generally include a phytosanitary certificate and an invoice, with some countries requiring an additional import permit.
Steps to Verify Import Requirements:
If you’re unsure about your country’s import terms, please contact your national authorities (e.g., Departments of Agriculture, Forestry, or Ecology) and inquire:
Import Permits: Is an import permit needed?
Allowed Imports: Are live bamboo plants permitted for import?
Plant Treatment: Are there specific requirements, such as fungicide/pesticide treatment or soil removal from roots?
Phytosanitary Certificate: Is this document mandatory?
General Guidelines:
In most cases, soil must be removed from the plants, and a phytosanitary certificate is required.
Customers must ensure they provide us with the correct import requirements for their destination country.
To issue a phytosanitary certificate, Colombian plant health authorities require detailed information on treatment requirements (e.g., fungicide and pesticide formulas). We will need documentation or a link to relevant government regulations (e.g., a governmental website or a printed copy of the applicable rules).
Important Note for U.S. Customers:
Unfortunately, due to USDA regulations, the import of live bamboo plants and seeds into the United States is prohibited. We are unable to ship bamboo plants to the U.S.

No, we do NOT sell bamboo seeds.
Bamboo is a unique plant species that flowers infrequently, with most varieties flowering only once every 30 to 100 years (or even longer). This rarity makes bamboo seeds extremely difficult to obtain and impractical for regular sale.
For reliable bamboo propagation, consider our bare-root bamboo plant divisions, which are ready to grow and ship worldwide.
-
We ship bare-root, leafless bamboo plant divisions, designed for safe and efficient international shipping.
Product Details:
Composition: Each plant division includes rhizomes with a minimum of two trimmed stems and branches (without leaves).
Size: Plants are approximately 28 cm long.
Packaging: Carefully packed in an insulated Styrofoam cooler box to ensure they remain in excellent condition during transit.
Hydration: To prevent dehydration, we apply a protective hydrogel coating to the bamboo rhizomes.
Our careful preparation ensures your bamboo plants arrive healthy and ready for planting.

Shipping rates depend on the destination country, total weight, and type of postal service. Here’s how it works:
Standard Shipping: EMS (Express Mail Service)
Carrier: 4-72 (EMS). EMS is the fastest and most reliable method for shipping living plants, ensuring they arrive in optimal condition.
Charges: Based on total weight and destination country.
Weight Ranges: We calculate charges for shipments in weight ranges of up to a maximum of 30 kg.
Alternative Carriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS, etc.)
If you prefer using another carrier:
1. Open an Account: Set up an account with your chosen carrier in your home country.
2. Payment: Prepay for the shipping service or provide a payment guarantee to the carrier.
3. Waybill: Send us the waybill details so we can coordinate the shipment.
Important: Many international carriers (e.g., DHL, FedEx) in Colombia do not directly accept shipments of live plants unless the importer has already prepaid or coordinated the order with the carrier in their home country.

We strive to ensure the quality and accuracy of your bamboo plant orders and provide the following guarantees:
Correct Species and Labeling: We guarantee that the shipped plants are of the correct species and are properly labeled with their botanical names.
Healthy Plants: All plants are shipped as healthy, vigorous divisions. However, once they leave our nursery, we cannot control how they are handled or maintained.
Phytosanitary Certificate and Treatments: We guarantee the issuance of a valid phytosanitary certificate and proper application of fungicide and pesticide, tailored to the destination country’s requirements. (The customer is responsible for providing accurate import requirements.)
Limitations of Responsibility:
We are responsible for the plants only until they depart from the port of origin in Colombia.
International couriers typically do not provide insurance for live plants, so customers assume the risk of potential loss after the shipment leaves Colombia.
We cannot guarantee that all plant divisions will survive the transit, especially in cases of unexpected delays or errors by couriers or customs agencies at the destination.
-
All orders, including shipping, must be prepaid. We do not accept cash on delivery.
Payment Currency
Payments must be made in US Dollars (USD).
Accepted Payment Methods
• Western Union
• Direct Bank Transfer to our company account in Colombia.
Important: The buyer is responsible for covering all bank fees, including those charged by both the sending and receiving banks.
-
Due to the nature of international shipping, we cannot offer refunds for living plants once shipped. Factors like transit times, customs inspections, and handling during delivery are beyond our control, which may affect the condition of the plants. We recommend considering a test order for first-time buyers before committing to larger quantities.
