Bamboos species of the genus Himalayacalamus are temperate mountain clumping bamboos native to Assam, East Himalaya, Nepal, Tibet and West Himalaya.
Himalayacalamus species are often confused with Drepanostachyum. However, Drepanostachyum has many equal branches while Himalayacalamus species have only one dominant branch.
